  Subsequently, the Patent Office conducts an examination. If all requirements are met, the application is approved and registered. A certificate of registration is issued to the applicant. Once the design is recorded, it is published in the Patent Office Journal, published weekly, along with additional bibliographic details. In case of any issues, the entire process might take up to a year.
• Design's Official Registration:
  Upon successful registration, your design enters the Register of Designs, a record maintained by the Patent Office. It contains information like the owner's name and address, filing date, class number, and design number.
• Duration of Design Protection:
  Design registration remains valid for a span of up to ten years, extendable for an additional five years.
• Priority Claim:
  Priority claim procedures are vital since India is a signatory to the Paris Convention. This provision allows you to file a subsequent application for a design that remains relevant as of the date of the initial application in another country.
• Design Infringement:
  In the event of any infringement, the owner possesses the right to initiate legal action to halt the misuse and seek reparations. The offender is liable to pay Rs. 25,000 in damages caused.
